Shortlisted Project - Facade Awards 2022
Our Forstal House project has been shortlisted for the Facade Awards 'best use of a rainscreen system using aluminium' category.
This project featured our secret-fix soffit, fascia and cladding system.
The client gave a very clear brief, highlighting that under no circumstance did they want to see ANY visible fixings on this residential project. Alternatives were available, but they would have been mechanically fixed showing fixings throughout.
Our Secret Fix Z Profile systems offer an unobstructed, very clean finish complimenting modern aesthetics, particularly suited to this kind of residential project, more of which can be viewed from ground level due to limited storeys.
We also used our bespoke capping to encompass the glass balustrades on the balcony areas, flowing down onto the fascia using the Z profile for secret fixing and then continuing seamlessly through to the soffit, again all without any visible fixings.
All of the aluminium elements were powder coated by in-house to RAL 7013 to match the windows which were already in place. This offered pleasing aesthetic appeal with a consistent complexion across all of the windows, facades, soffits, fascias and glass balustrade capping, unifying the project as a whole.
Both our client (the installer) and the end user were thrilled with the finished result, because, as promised, NO visible fixings were present and the entire aesthetic of the building worked really well with all of the aluminium elements blending perfectly and really pulling the building together.
